• Christa Shepherd

Christa Shepherd has been teaching music in the Omaha metro area for over ten years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She graduated with honors in May of 2021 and received the Outstanding Graduate Student in Music award. Christa loves to perform and has participated in many university musicals and opera theatre productions. Her favorite roles include “Papagena” in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” in 2019 and “Gretel” in UNO’s production of the opera “Hansel and Gretel” by Engelbert Humperdinck in 2021.

In addition to performing on stage, Christa has also participated in vocal competitions. In 2019, Christa was a finalist in the Kansas NATS competition, and in 2020, she was the co-winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition at the UNO School of Music and performed with the Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra in February of 2021.

Christa is also an accomplished pianist. She studied piano privately for over 10 years and has participated in many competitions and recitals. She welcomes students of all ages and skill levels and is committed to helping students reach their musical goals.

In addition to teaching music lessons at St. Paul’s Music Conservatory, Christa is the director of the Bravo Youth Choir at MKS Studio in Omaha and teaches the Music Makers music theory class at MKS Studio as well.

Christa has a deep love for music, a gift for teaching, and an abiding love for the Lord. When she is not teaching or performing, Christa enjoys baking, tutoring French, and playing tennis with her husband Josh.
